This site is published by MF Garage Doors, a garage door company based in Sebring, Florida, fitting and repairing doors since 2019.

Why a door company writes a reference site

Because the questions people ask before they ring are the same questions every week, and answering them one phone call at a time is a poor way to answer them. What is the rough opening for a 16x7. Will two trucks fit through sixteen feet. How much headroom does a ten-foot door need. None of that is a sales conversation — it is the thing somebody has to know before they can even ask for a price.

So the answers are written down, 15 sizes of them, against 25,530 searches a month. If it saves you a call, it has done its job. If it makes you ring us, that is the other reason it exists, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Where the numbers come from

Clearances and rough openings are the manufacturers' own published figures — Clopay, Garaga and Raynor — rather than anything recalled or averaged. They were read through by Dmi, who has been fitting doors with us since 2019, and one of them was wrong before he did: backroom is door height plus sixteen inches, not eighteen.

Prices are national ranges, and deliberately so. They are checked against a working contractor's current list — September 2026 — and then widened to hold the whole country, because labour in California or the Northeast runs well above central Florida and a band that only fits one state is a band that misleads four-fifths of the people reading it. They are a guide. They are not a quote, and nothing here is MF Garage Doors's price for your door.

Search volumes are measured, not estimated. Every size on this site has real monthly demand behind it, and a size nobody looks up does not get a page — pages generated because we could rather than because anybody asked are exactly what Google went after in 2024, and rightly.

What is not here

No affiliate links. No sponsored placements. The comparison pages say what Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards and Costco are genuinely good at before they say anything else, and we earn nothing whichever one you choose.

No invented specifics. You will not find a warranty length, a lead time in weeks or a vehicle's exact width on these pages, because all three move and a number that is wrong by the time you read it is worse than no number at all.

If something here is wrong
